A huge success for Hakaan Yildirim at London Fashion Week
The London runway was a burst of springtime delights when Hakaan Yildirim showcased his new H by Hakaan SS15 collection on September 16.
The fashion world was abuzz with his ready-to-wear meadow of designs inspired by honeybees, gorgeous geometric beehive shapes and Spring-hued colors that practically tasted of zingy tangerines, citrusy lemons and juicy orange. The Turkish designer's tour de force achieved a fresh new look for city sidewalks with a perfect combination of urban chic and nature's mystique neatly tailored to the female form.
With controlled sleek lines, the catwalk came alive with hexagons, hand-stitched bee appliqués and eye-catching embroideries. Of the more than 170 designers presenting at London Fashion Week this season, the DHL Exported inaugural winner served up a stunning show that generated a lot of fashionista buzz.
The season's knock-out garments included cut-out skirts, sexy sheer panels, futuristic hats and black-and-yellow striped single-strap dresses - with the perfect amount of beaded embellishments. The Turkish designer's hand-crafter couture went down like pure honey in the British fashion capital.
Hakaan Yildirim's stunning success in London was made possible by the DHL Exported program, which provided full logistical support and covered all the production and promotional costs for his cutting-edge collection.
The program was established to help emerging designers as they branch out into new markets by giving them runway slots at Fashion Week events around the world for two consecutive seasons.
