DHL Presents Mawi and Gaurav Gupta at Lakme Fashion Week

A long-time supporter of Lakmé Fashion Week in Mumbai, DHL India continued their tradition of highlighting local Indian designers during the Summer/Resort 2014 collections held in mid-March. The DHL presents show featured the masterpieces of accessories designer Mawi Keivom and the futuristic womenswear of Gaurav Gupta.

A lit spaceship hung from the ceiling took flight before the models hit the ramp, adding mystery to the late evening “Indian Odyssey” designer Mawi Keivom used to celebrate her return to her homeland after being based in the UK for 12 years. Already a big name abroad, the luxe brand featured gold ribbed collars, ear cuffs and shoulder dusters, as well as chains with gem pendants and floret-framed diamonds.

The accessories sparkled alongside the glittering silhouettes making up Gaurav Gupta's debut collection. An expert drapist, Gupta presented a striking mix of dresses, saris and jumpsuits, evidencing his talents for making the female shape appear breathtaking no matter the silhouette.

A proud supporter of more than 30 Fashion Week events worldwide, DHL was excited to bring this spectacular event to audiences in Mumbai, and to show just how far debut designers can come when provided the right backing – as the newly launched DHL Exported program will show.
