DHL to manage warehousing for Crocs footwear in Japan
Casual lifestyle footwear brand, Crocs Japan, has awarded a two-year contract to contract logistics solution provider, DHL Supply Chain, to manage its national warehouse operations in Narita, Japan.
Under the new agreement, DHL will be responsible for the entire warehouse operations including varieties of value-added services and multi-channel logistics of Crocs footwear for retailers across the country.
“We will be dispatching 300,000 pairs of shoes a month and have a solution that meets seasonal demand patterns and supports sales growth,” said DHL supply chain chief Noboru Matsuoka.
The company has a strong relationship with the footwear brand after DHL was awarded the contract to manage the Crocs warehouse in South Korea in 2010.
Said Crocs Japan managing director Moriya Fujita: “What appeals to us the most is that DHL goes beyond being just a logistics-services vendor to provide us with a total solution.”
Previously Crocs had taken an active role in the management of its warehouse, however under the new agreement DHL will lead the operations management and re-design of the operations, which allows Crocs to focus on their core business activities.
