DHL Exported Milan Experts

Home to many of the world’s most famous luxury goods brands, Italy and its fashion capital Milan are the perfect jumping off point for high-end designers looking to break into the European market. Our DHL Exported expert panel reflects that, with some of the biggest names in the Milan fashion world on board to give their stamp of approval to the talented finalists.

The experts include Carla Sozzani, Italian gallerist and founder of Galleria Carla Sozzani and creator of ’10 Corso Como’ in Milan, Tokyo, Seoul and Shanghai. Sozzani spent 18 years as editor in chief at Vogue Italia before launching Italian Elle in 1987. Since then, she’s remained at the forefront of Italian culture and design with the concept destination of 10 Corso Como -  a fashion and design space, a café and restaurant and a small Hotel. As the concept has gone global while remaining firmly rooted in the Italian scene, Sozzani not only knows fashion, she knows how best to expand without losing your roots.

Simone Marchetti, Fashion editor for La Repubblica and Affari&Finanza and Deputy editor-in-chief at D.Repubblica.it has years of experience in the magazine world and has created new ways to bring the shows of Milano Moda Donna to the consuming public. He writes at Simonesjournal.com.

Appointed CEO of the Italian Fashion Council, Jane Reeve is the former President and CEO of JWT Italy, where she played an instrumental role in the agency’s relaunch and its success in the Italian communications sector. Her experience in the retail and brand consultancy sectors mean she knows what it takes for a designer to catch both consumers’ and retailers’ eyes – a must for someone just starting out in the market. Reeve will be taking part in the Google+ Hangout on April 30 and talking about why the Milan expert committee chose the finalists for their city, so be sure to tune in to hear her words of wisdom right here on In Motion.
